My Good Buys

I am not spending so much these days because I am saving for my travel fund...  Here are the products that I love.   I found them to be effective and affordable.

1.  MYCHOICE multi-purpose sanitizer.   This can be bought it at Ministop.  If you can see, my bottle's nearly empty, so I've got to buy a new one!

I love the scent of this sanitizer - it is actually a 3-in-1 product = hand sanitizer + disinfectant + room spritzer.  I always use hand sanitizers in the office because I do not want to wash my aching  hands with soap and water especially coz I'm busy typing at my computer.   I noticed that alcogel makes my hands dry but MYCHOICE sanitizer keeps them soft.

2. POND'S Flawless White day cream

Yup, it's almost empty, too.  It is a visible lightening day cream with new VAO-B complex and multiple UV protection.  I am not sure if it lightens the skin because my skin is already somewhat fair.  My problem is that I have oily skin so my face shines (the t-zone).  Good thing I discovered

3.  SkinWhite Advanced Whitening Face Cream Powder in light beige

Try this, it's a 3-in-1 whitener, moisturizer, powder.  It also has spf12.  It transforms a moisturizing cream into a light, matte powder when applied onto the skin.

When I opened the tube, liquid came out.   So remember to shake well before using.  The cream really transformed into a powdery finish.  I am impressed.

4.  Tonymoly Petite Bunny Gloss Bar

This doesn't dry my lips.  Looks natural when I put it on.  Look at the cap, cutesy right?

 5. Human Nature nourishing face toner tomato extract

Keeps my face soft.  I was surprised because it really is no-sting!  Feels like I'm just washing my face with water.

6. Vaseline healthy white UV lightening
whitening and even-tone lotion

I like this  because it is mildly scented so it doesn't clash with my perfume.  It's not sticky and keeps my skin soft.

There you have it, my good buys.  I will be on the lookout for other good buys.  How about you?

No Labels

Do NOT let labels limit us.

How do we define ourselves?  Are we first and foremost a daughter?  An employee?  A student?  I do not like it when others put labels on us and limit us to that "label."  I have always thought that it is not right to put people in boxes.

I must admit that sometimes I create my self-imposed prisons.

We can be all things.
If we let go of all the labels and rest in "I am."
Ah, such Freedom.
Embrace our infinite potentials.

I love this quote by Lao Tzu and I want to remind this to myself:

"When I let go of what I am, I become what I might be."

* Err, having a reflective Wednesday.  End of the Month eh :)

Pa-reflect-reflect lang pag me time... hahaha

Tips for the Bar Exam

This is for my future panyeros /panyeras who may happen to read this blog....  No, I am not even in the Top 10.  Passing is already an achievement, and for that I am so grateful.  But Top 11 is everybody's slot!  Go ask all attorneys! :)
BAR REVIEW TIPS

Every lawyer has his or her own tips to pass THE Bar (or top it, if you wish). Allow me to share my thoughts. I hope that this will help you in any way.

Foremost, I believe that passing the Bar is an act of God. Do not commit the mistake that you can fare well on your own, but if you choose to, it's up to you.   I collected these reminders from the bar reviewers, topnotchers, professors, and my experience. What's the difference? This is my own presentation.. :)

ONE word to keep in mind for six months = F-O-C-U-S

ONE thing to pray for = WISDOM
Ask God for wisdom - this is one of my fave Bible verses, not just because of the Bar. I ask God for wisdom in my daily life so He'll guide me towards the right path.
James 1:5(KJV) - If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

TWO things to do:

1. PRAY, as if everything depended on God
2. STUDY, as if everything depended on you

THREE things to handle efficiently:
1. time - this is the most important.
2. effort
3. money

FOUR-FOLD test:
1. physical
2. emotional/psychological
3. mental, and
4. spiritual well-being

FOUR aids as you answer the Bar:
1. wisdom
2. understanding
3. clarity of thought
4. facility of expression

I will write more pointers next time.

What to Write?

Wikipedia defines writer's block as a condition, primarily associated with writing as a profession in which an author loses the ability to produce new work.

I have been reading blogs for the past years, and reading them leaves me in awe.  I am grateful for the wealth of information I have learned, and I have my "blog idols" that I look up to as well.   I have always admired people who have so much passion in what they do, creating a niche for themselves.

Blogging is something that I do during my free time.  It's a creative outlet for me, and something that I enjoy doing from time to time.  (You see, I am a lawyer working full time in a government agency and I have an authority for private practice.)  I am learning about makeup from the beauty blogs. I am not a fashionista, but who knows maybe I could  be one.  Someday, maybe I could post my FOTD and OOTD.  I love to travel if time (and money!) permits me.  Sometimes I also join fun runs (lakad-takbo ang ginagawa ko, tulad ng iba) and join our office zumba sessions (just to sweat and lose weight, not really dance).

*what I learned from beauty and fashion blogs

FOTD - means face of the day
NOTD - nail of the day
OOTD - outfit of the day
HOTD - hair of the day
=)

Book - One Day My Soul Just Opened Up

Reading Now:  One Day My Soul Just Opened Up
40 Days and 40 Nights Toward Spiritual Strength and Personal Growth
316 pages
by Iyanla Vanzant
bought for P115.00, Booksale

Another on my to-do list!  Continue and/or start reading my books.

You see, aside from food, I love books. (Oh please don't make me choose between the two :D)  I love reading books and for the past months, I've been buying books whenever I go to bookstores.  Most books I bought at Booksale.  Now I realize that I haven't even completely read them.  Some I have leafed through the pages.  So I am on a book-buying-ban for now till I have read or at least skimmed (scanned?) each book.

One Day My Soul Just Opened Up is supposed to be read for forty days, as its sub-title states.   The author requires 30 minutes each day: 20 minutes for the morning exercise and 10 minutes for the evening exercise. However, I do not have that patience to wait for 40 days because I want to be enlightened right away. lol.. I am a self-proclaimed fast reader, so I will read this as fast as I can.   Beats the purpose, I know.  But I have other books to read.  So many books, so little time.

What I like:
  • the poem  First . . . words
  • Each day has words of affirmations, Let Me Remember section to sum up the principle for the day.  The book is like a journal and discussed a lot of things like truth, trust, simplicity, acceptance, boundaries, nonjudgment, authenticity, expansion, gratitude, unconditional love, and a lot of other things. BIG words!
Points to Remember:

When you are where you intend to be, doing what you intend to do, for a goal or purpose you intend to realize, you are less likely to be knocked off your center square.

In the quest for spiritual strength you must order your mind, your body, and all of your affairs.  You must clean out and reorder everything in your environment. (p. 313)
